Seito Chef Crowned Champ at First Ever Ramen Rumble

Seito Baldwin Park’s Executive Chef Austin Boyd wrestled some stiff competition from Central Florida culinary heavyweights –Chef Greg Richie (Soco and Baoery Asian Gastropub) and Chef Chau Trinh (Sushi Pop Restaurant) – to walk away victorious at the first-ever Ramen Rumble presented by Tasty Chomps.

In front of a sold-out crowd of more than 150 local foodies at The Osprey Tavern, Austin KO’d the competition with his Tonkotsu Ramen derived from 24-hour pork broth, pork belly, beni shoga and soy egg. His signature recipe took top honors in both the “People’s Choice” category as well as from the judging panel — Joseph Hayes (Orlando Magazine), Faiyaz Kara (Orlando Weekly) and Matthew Heafy from the band Trivium.

As winner, Boyd chose to donate the lion’s share of the event’s proceeds to The Kevin Fonzo Foundation, a non-profit organization dedicated to incorporating gardening and hands-on kitchen classes into the daily curriculums of Central Florida schools.

Stay tuned for details about Ramen Rumble Round Two! And, in the meantime, stop by Seito Baldwin Park to sample Austin’s award-winning Tonkotsu Ramen.
